An organization’s health depends on volunteers.  From time to time there are opportunities to lend a hand, “give back” or  pay it forward for the help you have received or may some day need.  This page will showcase those opportunities.   Inquire at any meeting.
  • Washington County Fair We, as the RI beekeepers Association, have entered into an agreement with Washington County Fair to run an education both.  We are looking for members to work shifts.    August 17 thru 21 (Wednesday through Sunday), shifts are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 4:00 PM till 10:00 PM.   This year we are going to sell members’ honey if possible and honey sticks.   We will also try to educate public on bee problems that we all face.   Volunteers are needed for some shifts and are available until schedule is full.   Two members per shift provides you with free fair ticket.  So if you are interested please let Don Joslin know ASAP djoslinsr@verizon.net or 401-207-6879.
  • There is a real need for more people to get the training for the Queen Grant hive inspections.  There is a video to watch and current teams will help with hands on practice and then you too can be part of this amazing group!!  Send Jane Dennison an email at jamdmd@aol.com if you want to train up for this exciting project.
  • Do you have computer skills?   Excel, E-mail campaigns, other office or technical skills?  Please contact loridobson@yahoo.com
  • There is an on-going need for presenters on the Presentation Committee:

When we receive a request for a Speaker or presentation, a group email is sent to our list of volunteers with details of the event.  If you would like to participate, you can phone or reply with an email indicating your interest.  Placing one’s name on the Presentation Committee list does not commit you to do anything.  If you would like to be included in this effort,  please  call  Malinda  at  (401) 749-3312  or  send  an  email:   malindacoletta@yahoo.com
