Volunteering

An organization’s health depends on volunteers.  From time to time there are opportunities to lend a hand or bee supportive.  This page will showcase those needs.  Inquire at any meeting.
  • 2015 Rhode Island Flower Show :  We are still in need of volunteers for afternoons on all days.  There will be at least two to three people in the booth at any one time.  The responsibilities will include selling honey, answering questions and passing out printed material.  No experience necessary.  Punctuality and reliability are of utmost importance. Admission, parking and materials provided.  Call or email Christine Dwyer if interested and in helping to promote beekeeping.   (401) 808-5136, (401) 353-3173, chrisdwyer29@cox.net
  • There is an on-going need for presenters on the Presentation Committee:

The Presentation Committee (Christine Dwyer, Chair) needs volunteers to “enlist” for speaking engagements, presentations, booth-manning and what ever else comes up.

The way it works:   When I get a request for a Speaker, presentation, etc., I send a group email to all volunteers on the list with details of the event. If you would like to participate, you merely send me an email with your intentions.  Depending on the response, I will select someone to do the job.  Placing one’s name on the Presentation Committee list does not commit you to do anything.  If you are not interested, just delete that email.

Often there is a stipend for the speaker.  When we man a booth, sometimes there is an opportunity to sell things like honey or other hive products.

If you are not on the list yet and would like to be, please call  401-808-5136 or send me an email: chrisdwyer29@cox.net
